Safeguarding Our Little Ones: Amaze Early Education’s Commitment to Child Protection

Nothing matters more than knowing your child is nurtured and thriving in a secure environment. At Amaze Early Education, we understand the profound trust you place in us when you entrust your little ones to us. That’s why we put your child’s safety at the heart of everything we do. This month, we’re putting extra focus on child protection and safeguarding. Let’s talk about what these mean for you and how we’re upholding the highest standards to protect your children.

National Child Protection Week: 7–13 September 2025

Every year, Australia comes together for National Child Protection Week, an annual campaign dedicated to raising awareness about child safety and preventing harm. Organised by the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN), this initiative champions the idea that every child in every community deserves a fair go and a chance to grow up free from abuse and neglect.

This year’s theme, ‘Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action,’ emphasises that while talking about child safety helps challenge harmful norms, spark ideas, and build awareness, the real impact comes from transforming dialogue into concrete actions.

For parents and families, this means starting those conversations at home. How can we spot signs of distress? What actions ensure our kids feel heard and protected? By moving from talk to action, we create child protection and safeguarding environments where the little ones not only voice their needs but experience genuine safety and care. At Amaze, we’re embracing this theme by hosting fun and educational activities for the little ones.

Upcoming NQF Child Safety Changes: What Parents Need to Know

New regulatory changes under the National Quality Framework (NQF) take effect this September and into January next year. Here’s what they mean for your child’s care at Amaze, and how we’re already ahead of the curve:

Changes from 1 September 2025

Safe Use of Digital Technologies and Online Environments – Starting September 1, 2025, inside and out. It also acts as a strong deterrent to unsafe or inappropriate behaviour.

  • Strict visitor policies – all visitors must follow our sign-in process and are never left unsupervised around children
  • Bachelor-trained educators and staff – undergo rigorous background checks and participate in regular emergency preparedness training – ensuring our team is always ready to protect children in both everyday routines and emergency situations.

You can feel confident knowing your child is in a safe and secure learning environment every day. Together, let’s build stronger, safer spaces where every child is heard, protected, and cherished.

Services must implement clearer policies regarding the use of digital technologies, including cameras, CCTV, and tablets. This includes obtaining your consent for photos or videos of your child, securely storing them, and deleting them when no longer needed, safeguarding their privacy in our increasingly digital world.

Notification Timeframes for Reporting Abuse: Allegations of physical or sexual abuse will require notification to authorities within 24 hours, down from seven days, meaning faster responses to keep your child safe.

Ban on Vaping Devices: Vaping products will be banned on premises, just like tobacco or alcohol, promoting a healthier space free from harmful substances.

Changes from 1 January 2026

The NQF’s quality areas will explicitly prioritise child safety, with staff trained to identify and respond to signs of abuse or neglect, and robust risk management systems in place.

For parents and families, this translates to peace of mind: Your child will be in a setting where early childhood educators are equipped to spot issues early, leadership fosters a child-safe culture, and policies minimise risks during play, learning, or rest.

These updates aren’t just regulatory; they’re about real-world protection, such as ensuring a quick response if something feels off during outdoor activities or naptime. We’re already aligning our practices at Amaze to meet and exceed these standards, so you can focus on your day knowing your child is in expert and caring hands.

How Amaze Goes Above and Beyond for Child Protection and Safeguarding

At Amaze Early Education, we’ve long made safety a foundation in our daily operations. Here’s how we uphold the highest standards to keep your little learner safe and secure:

  • Keypad-only access – ensures that only authorised parents, families, and staff can enter our centres.
